Despite the challenges and the confusion, with a few adjustments, art is opening up again !
So Augusts blog is a chance to share the new and creative ways that art, exhibitions and creative classes are being presented in the Lancaster & Morecambe area.
Here are some of the groups, spaces and events opening up ~ on line, indoors and outdoors over the summer, inviting you to soak up and purchase art, to join in and get creative.

Promenade! (Everybody's Free!) led by artists at Angel Club (North) ⠀
They are creating a series of Morecambe Bay coastal and headphone walking tours of the Bay to improve our mental and physical wellbeing during the current crisis⠀
They would love to hear your stories around these walks? You could also imagine what certain points on the walk could look like in the years to come. ⠀

THE EXCHANGE & MAKE MY DAY this year has undergone a radical rethink - to bring you....
MAKE YOUR OWN MAKE MY DAY @ HOME - providing quality artist designed workshops with instructions and videos to create at home.
Each week in the run up to Make My Day! at Home | Sun 9th Aug 1-3pm we'll release a new activity. You can make along at home in your own time. Pick and choose your favourites or get stuck in and make them all. ill Fill your window or yard with your creations to show to the outside world!

LANCASTER CITY MUSEUM
Are making preparations, getting screens installed, setting up one way systems and online booking ticketing for when they reopen (hopefully in August, date to be confirmed). They will initially only be opening up the ground floor exhibition rooms.
Also they've been busy on social media with local history posts, and showing the art from their archive stores, particularly the art produced 1950s at the Storey when it was Lancaster Art School.

They'll be recruiting a group of young people who are interested in activism, equality and making positive change in their city to work with us on creating a socially distanced exhibition featuring work by three emerging Black artists who the young people will research, select and commission.

LANCASTER STUDIO POTTERY
Will be running taster sessions starting on the 3rd of August.
They are setting up a shop in the front room of the Studio ~ 2 days a week from the 24th of August, selling Pottery and Art.
They are developing Open Studio sessions and their workshops will be on Saturdays. Future exhibitions also in the pipeline.
